There are many ways to inspect, view and analyze, email headers and their underlying protocols.
One simple and commonly used method is to inspect the internet properties: ~ this method may vary slightly, dependent on the system version you are using.
Double-click the email message to display it in its own full window.
1. Select “File” > “Properties“.
2. The Properties window is displayed. View the message header in the “Internet headers” field at the bottom of the window.
Alternatively, via the App: follow Detail 3 and 4 below

Note:
If you are using Outlook Web Access, you can select the three dots (…) located at the upper-right corner while in the message, then choose “View Message details“.
Why is the Internet headers box is blank when I attempt to look at it?
You can only see the message headers for messages you have received.
If you are looking at “Sent Items“, generally there will be nothing to show.
